Microfluidic devices for biology and medicine

Microfluidic devices for sample preparation and analysis

The development of precision medicine, together with the multiplication of targeted therapies and associated molecular biomarkers, call for major progress in the develpment of new tools and methods adapted to biomolecular or cellular capture, enrichment and detection. Microfluidics offers key adavantages for that purpose : it provides the reduction of sample and reagents required for low cost analysis and provide the reproducibility as well as the automation capabilities for reliable analysis. Our motivation is to combine the advantages of microfluidics together with high resolution 3D assembly or additive manufacturing to develop original devices for molecular of cellular analysis.

Application range from sample preconcentration on fluidized beds, to sample analysis in droplet microfluidic platforms to rare cell capture and analysis.

Micropatterned devices for cell culture :

We implement directed assembly and soft lithography (Micro Contact Printing) to create microstr uctured environment for the selective capture of cell and the study of cell growth and proliferation. Applications range from cancer early diagnosis through CTC (Circulating Tumoral Cells) capture to the analysis of neurons or axons growth in confined geometries.
