Romain Cayre

Assistant professor @ INSA Toulouse / LAAS-CNRS

I'm currently assistant professor at Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA), an engineering school in Toulouse, France. I'm also Security researcher in the TRUST team at the french LAAS-CNRS laboratory since October 2024. Before joining INSA & LAAS-CNRS as assistant professor, I obtained a PhD in Computer Science from INSA Toulouse and performed two years as post-doctoral researcher in Digital Security department (S3 team) at EURECOM, Sophia-Antipolis (France).

My research interests are related to Wireless security, IoT / IIoT security and Embedded Systems security. My PhD thesis is titled Offensive and defensive approaches for wireless communication protocols in IoT". I'm also a former student of INSA Toulouse and TLS-SEC, where I studied Computer Science, Networks and Security, and where I contribute to teaching today.

In this website, you will find my research publications, my talks, some ressources related to my teaching activities, how to contact me and the main tools I developed and maintained during my research or teaching activities. If I find some time, I will also try to update some technical posts about reverse engineering, hardware, embedded and wireless hacking or side projects.
