Best PhD 2019 Award Aerospace Valley to Marco Tognon

Marco Tognon has been awarded the 2019 Prix Aerospace Valley for the best PhD thesis in the field of aeronautics, space, and embedded systems. The prize is is given by the Aerospace Valley cluster, the first aeronautic and space cluster in Europe, which has over 500 affiliated companies responsible for some 120,000 jobs in the aviation and space flight industries and with some 8,500 researchers working in the affiliated companies and research institutions.

Marco Tognon's PhD thesis - entitled Theory and Applications for Control and Motion Planning for Aerial Robots in Physical Interaction with particular focus on Tethered Aerial Vehicles' - has been developed at LAAS-CNRS, in the team RIS, under the supervision of Antonio Franchi and Juan Cortés, and within the framework of the AEROARMS EU H2020 project.

The important award has been announced and bestowed at the 14th forum of the Aerospace Valley members, on May 21, 2019, in the town of Arcachon, France.
