JointAction4HRI (French ANR project) 2017-2021

Description: What matters to us are the key components and mechanisms underlying joint action, their informational content and how they are linked together, temporarily, hierarchically and meaningfully. Our ambition is to contribute, at the most fundamental level, to the identification and characterization of the ingredients required for the successful realization of a collaborative task in a human-human and a human-robot contexts.

MuMMER- MUltiModal Mall Entertainment Robot (H2020) 2016-2020
Description: MuMMER ("MultiModal Mall Entertainment Robot ») project proposes to address the important and growing market of consumer entertainment robotics by advancing the technologies needed to support this area of robotics. Specifically, we are developping a robot able to engage and interact autonomously and naturally in the dynamic environments of a public shopping mall, providing an engaging and entertaining experience to the general public.

RoboErgoSum - Self Aware Robot (French ANR project) - 2013-2017
Description: One of the greatest challenges facing robotics research today is the design of robots able to act autonomously at a cognitive level, and to interact with people in a natural way. RoboErgoSum project intended to study how to develop a robot self awareness and the ability to perform cognitive-level reasoning.

Saphari - Safe and Autonomous Physical Human-Aware Robot Interaction (FP7) - 2011-2015
Description: Recent progress in physical Human-Robot Interaction showed that active and safe workspace sharing becomes possible in principle. SAPHARI performed a fundamental paradigm shift in robot development in the sense that the human was the centre of the entire design. The project studied the way to track, understand and predict human motions in a weakly structured dynamic environment in real-time. The project focused on industrial use cases that required contacts and force exchange in human-robot co-work, as well as on professional service scenarios in hospitals, in which a medical staff and an assisting robot interact closely during daily work.

MarDi - Man-Robot Dialogue (French National Research Agency project) - 2012-2016
Description: The objective of the MarDi project was to study the human-computer interaction in situated manner. Robots, endowed with perceptions, but also means to act in the environment, allowed the integration of a physical context in the interaction for the machine as well as for humans.

COGNIRON (European FP6 integrated project) 2004-2008
Description: The overall objectives of this project was to study the perceptual, representational, reasoning and learning capabilities of embodied robots in human centred environments. The project has developed methods and technologies for the construction of cognitive robots, able to evolve and grow their capacities in close interaction with humans in an open-ended fashion.
